How Stage & the City supports the Fiorentini Foundation

Apart from providing adults will high-quality performing arts courses led by industry professionals, one of the main reasons Anna Fiorentini set up Stage & the City was to support the charitable arm of the Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School, The Fiorentini Foundation as well as the school itself.

Anna realised early on the challenge of fundraising to keep a charity afloat and so created Stage & the City to be a vital lifeline for the Foundation. All profits from Stage & the City go directly towards providing scholarships and subsidised places for disadvantaged children that wish to access performing arts to build confidence and self-esteem. The charity also supports children with learning/physical disabilities, from chaotic home lives and chronic health conditions.

Since Stage & the City launched in 2014 it has supported over 75 children. This includes Jayden who was given a free place at the Anna Fiorentini school. A few months later we got him the job of playing Fletcher in the West End’s, The Bodyguard playing alongside Beverley Knight! As you can imagine, his confidence has soared!

Once a year Stage & the City puts on a charity showcase in which many students perform. All money raised from this show goes to the Fiorentini Foundation to support children with or affected by cancer who wish to use the performing arts as a much-needed respite and for escapism and fun.

So, when you sign up and take a course with Stage & the City you can allow yourself that extra smugness that you are not only boosting your confidence, gifting yourself some self-love and challenging yourself, you are also donating to a charity crucial in supporting children. Go you!
